1. Scope
This policy applies to all content generated, published, transmitted, or stored through the EduMate platform, including:
- Text: AI-generated text, conversations, explanations, practice problems, graded answers, and articles
- User Input (Prompts): Questions, topics, and instructions submitted by users to the AI tutor
- Uploaded Images: Images uploaded for analysis by the AI tutor (processed and not stored beyond the session)
2. Content Standards and Prohibited Categories
EduMate explicitly prohibits using this service to generate the following six categories of content:
- Pornography / NSFW content
- Violence / Gore
- Hate speech
- Child Safety (CSAM)
- Deepfakes / Impersonation
- Copyright or trademark infringement
2.1 Zero Tolerance — Immediate Action
The following content, once discovered, will result in immediate action and may be reported to authorities:
- Child sexual exploitation content (CSAM) or any sexual content involving minors
- Content promoting or assisting terrorism, extremism, or mass violence
- Instructions for creating weapons of mass destruction
- Content inciting genocide or ethnic hatred
- Non-consensual deepfake sexual content targeting real individuals
2.2 General Prohibited Activities
- Generate or distribute false information, rumors, or disinformation
- Impersonate real individuals, brands, or organizations
- Infringe on intellectual property, portrait rights, or privacy
- Present AI-generated content as human-created work
- Mass-generate spam or fraudulent content
- Use jailbreak prompts to bypass platform safety mechanisms
- Train, fine-tune, benchmark, or distill AI or machine learning models that compete directly or indirectly with EduMate using inputs, outputs, model responses, or any derivative data from this service
- Systematically scrape or collect model outputs for purposes beyond your authorized personal use
- Present AI-generated content as professional work of licensed practitioners (e.g., doctors, lawyers, financial advisors)
3. AI Model Disclosure
EduMate is an independent product that uses third-party AI infrastructure. The AI models used are:
- DeepSeek — For conversational tutoring, explanations, and content generation
- Creem Moderation API — For content safety filtering of user input (input filtering only)
EduMate is an independent brand. These models are industry-standard and are used solely to provide the tutoring service. The service and its outputs are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the model providers.
4. Content Moderation Mechanism
EduMate employs a content moderation system combining automated input filtering and human review.
4.1 Automated Input Filtering
User input (prompts) submitted to the AI tutor is automatically screened before processing:
- Input filtering: User prompts are analyzed by a content safety API to detect prohibited content
- Safety service used: Creem Moderation API (input filtering only)
4.2 Human Review
- User-reported content is reviewed by our Trust & Safety team
- Reviewers complete content safety training and sign confidentiality agreements
4.3 Periodic Audits
- Regular evaluation of moderation system effectiveness

- Confidentiality: Reporter identity is strictly protected
- Neutrality: All reports undergo independent, objective review
- Anti-abuse: Malicious or false reports will be recorded and handled

9. Transparency and Policy Updates
- Significant changes to this policy will be notified at least 15 days in advance via email or platform notice
